Good pastrami and that's all that matters!
I have been looking for a good local pastrami and while I have found a place or two with good pastrami it was either too thick and chewy or they didn't have the correct bread and fixins, rye bread, pickle and mustard is all I want on mine. This place has really tender and tasty meat. Don't get me wrong the meat could use more flavor to make it perfect for my taste buds so I should only give them 4 stars but I am so happy to have found a decent fix for my hankering I have decided to celebrate by throwing a 5 star party.
And yes they do have other food too but who cares lol -

Worst Service Ever!
We've been looking for a good sandwich shop in Idaho. Have yet to find one. We stopped at Hugo's today to order lunch for everyone. Having never been there it was a little overwhelming reading the menu. I didn't have time to wait for family members to get online to look up the menu. My daughter tried to snap a photo to message to the others at home, but the cashier made a comment that they weren't for photographing. So I did it by phone, but apparently this aggravated the cashier as well. Who turned to her co-workers and made a snarky comment, saying, "and this is why we don't allow this." Come to find out there is a sign on the register stating no cell phones. While I would understand this if I were just having a random conversation, I was not. I was getting everyones order. I was ordering 7 sandwiches, 3 were meals, and a large fries. When I asked if they carried BBQ chips the cashier with attitude said there in front of you. She gave us our total, $78 for 7 sandwiches and 1 order of fries. I went to get sweet tea and it was empty. I advised the young girl it was out. While sitting waiting I never saw anyone fill the sweet tea, so I again advised the cashier who was the one who rung us up that the tea was empty. She stated I took care of that already. Do you think if a customer who is waiting to get a drink tells you the tea is empty, you might let them know that you took care of it!! Now let's get to the food. It was horrible. Lacked any taste at all. I ordered 5 turkey Bacon Advo, and truthfully a little crumpled up pieces of bacon do not count as bacon. I was expecting a few slices of bacon on the roll. Further, the rudeness and the lack of welcome was enough to never have me stepping in their store again. I will be calling as I see there are more than 1 store, and hoping they have a district manager. Further had I heard the comment that the cashier made, I would have cancelled my order on the spot and walked out. I can make a better sandwich at home, and should have. -

The best sandwiches in town. A custom, hot pastrami is exactly what I needed. The customer service was great as well.

A little disappointed yesterday on my food. My family can have bread. I can not. I asked for a pilgrim In Salad form. I only received lettuce and turkey. No cucumbers or sprouts. It is hard enough try and eat good but when you do and expect the sandwich ingredients as told it should be what you pay for.

Been here a couple times now, two days in a row because I just found out about it. Apparently this location has been here since August 2016. How did it not get into Yelp yet??
Hugo's delis have been around here since I've been around here (early 80's). Just a solid joint with friendly people making great sandwiches. They're stuffed, so half options are available. There's something for everyone on their menu. If you want to add, delete or change something in the sandwich, they'll gladly do it for you. That brings me to the one Hugo's item that could bring world peace: Their deli fries. I can't begin to describe them in a way that would do them justice, so just try them. Get the spicy ketchup to dip them in. Similar to a cocktail sauce with chunks of horseradish.
This location is a Hugo's Express, so they don't have the full offerings afforded at the other locations, like the fried chicken and salads, but all the sandwiches seem to be there. They use my favorite local sourdough, which goes great on their combo sandwich. Other great breads and rolls available. Tables and chairs or booths, level throughout for easy access. Get there early to avoid the lunch crowd cuz this place is gaining popularity, probably more so that they're in Yelp now. DELI FRIES!!
